Warranties, explained

There are two warranties on a paint job: the manufacturer's on the product, and ours on the work.

Sherwin-Williams product warranty

Covers the paint
  • Lifetime limited warranty on SuperPaint, Duration, Emerald, Latitude, and Cashmere. Exterior paints are covered against peeling and blistering for the purchaser's lifetime; interior paints for as long as you own your home.
  • If the product fails when applied as directed to a properly prepared surface, Sherwin-Williams replaces an equivalent quantity of product or refunds the purchase price.
  • It does not cover labor, improper surface preparation, structural defects, failure of a previous paint, or improper application.
  • It is made to the original residential purchaser and is not transferable.

Terms vary by product. Read the warranty on each product above, and confirm the current version with Sherwin-Williams.

Our workmanship warranty

Covers the work
  • Two years from the date of completion.
  • Covers peeling, blistering, or flaking caused by improper application, and visible drips, runs, or sags not identified at the final walkthrough.
  • Prep, masking, and application are what we control, which is why we put so much into them.
